VERNE COMER DIES, RITES IN RAPID CITY

Funeral services for Verne M. Comer, age 81, will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, March 29 at the Behrens Mortuary in Rapid City, with burial in the Pinelawn Cemetery, Rapid City.

He was born February 13, 1897, at Medaryville, Indiana, the son of George and Nancy Comer. As a young boy the family moved to Lakeside, Colorado, where he grew up.

His marriage to Clara Mae Asheim, took place in Rapid City, on September 13, 1919 and they made their home in Lakeside, Rapid City, and Lead during their 58 years of marriage.

Survivors include his wife Clara Mae, three sons, Lowell J. Comer, Overland Park, Kansas; Auburn B. Comer, Durham, California; and Cecil W. Comer, Lead; one daughter, Eva L. Handley, Sun Prairie Wisconsin; eight grandchildren; nine great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial has been established by the family.
