passed away Monday, 9/7/15 in Bradenton, Florida. He was a loving husband to Karen Cumpston, who passed away in June of this year, for forty-six years. He was a loving father of two sons, Steve Cumpston who passed away in 1996 and Lonnie Cumpston of Tampa, Florida. He has two surviving sisters, Laura Bricker of Bradenton, Florida and Margaret Cumpston of North Port, Florida. He has many nieces and nephews. Born in West Union, West Virginia, he is one of ten children and the son of Dulcie Adams and Clifford Cumpston. He came to Florida in his teen years and spent the majority of his adult life in the Bradenton/Palmetto area.He spent time working in construction and worked for the City of Bradenton. He was a supervisor for the Sanitation Department until he retired. After retiring he spent time his free time on the golf course. His passion was golfing and he took advantage of it every chance he could. Visitation services will be held on Friday, 9/11/15 at 12 noon, followed by funeral services at 1:00 pm at Groover's Funeral Home located at 1400 36th Avenue East in Ellenton, Florida 34222. A fellowship will follow services at the home of Laura and Edward Bricker. Casual dress is requested.
