Vivian Abney
Vivian Abney, of Ringgold, Ga., was born July 6, 1927, in St. Augustine, Fla. On Dec. 12, 2008, our gracious Lord called Vivian to eternal peace and happiness to stand by him and watch over her loved ones. She was surrounded by her loving family as she passed away at home. Vivian was married to Marshall Abney for 61 years, leaving behind two children, Lamar Abney and Jackie Wofford. Vivian was the daughter of the late Walter and Esther Beaver. She was a sister to the late Raymon W. Beaver of Hollister, Fla., D. Jean Genovar of Rock Springs, Ga., Waymon A. Beaver of St. Augustine, Fla., Mary R. Wells of Ringgold, Ga., Paul R. Beaver of St. Augustine, Fla., Debra Riddle of Keith Community, Ga., and Nadine Sisson of Jacksonville, Fla. She was the grandmother of Austin Abney, Jacqueline Abney and Cam Wofford as well as several nieces and nephews. She is a member of the First Baptist Church in Ringgold, Eastern Star and an avid golfer. Vivian Abney will be celebrated as the embodiment of a precious soul. There is not a kinder, stronger, gentler, loving wife, mother, sister and grandmother to be remembered. All of those whose lives she touched will miss her and continue to adore her throughout eternity. Family will receive friends from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. A private burial will be held at a later date. Arrangements are by Wallis-Stewart Chapel of Wilson Funeral Homes, Ringgold, Ga.
