Monty McCarley, 70, of Blue Ridge, Texas, passed away on September 5, 2015, after an extensive battle of pneumonia. A viewing will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, September 9, 2015, at the First Baptist Church of Blue Ridge with funeral services to follow at 2 p.m. with Rev. Shawn Bailey officiating. His final resting place will be in Blue Ridge Cemetery.

Work History: retired from Texas Instruments after 30 years

Interests: Farming and spending time with the family were just few of his favorite past times. During the afternoon, he enjoyed sitting under the shade tree in his red Chevrolet pickup, relaxing and listening to George Jones as friends and family went by

Survived by: his wife of 47 year, Brenda McCarley, of Blue Ridge; sons, Wendell McCarley and his wife, Tammy, of Blue Ridge, and Michael McCarley and his wife, Amy, of Blue Ridge; daughter, Angie Rucker and her husband, Hank, of McKinney; grandchildren: Shawn, Hunter, and Colton and his wife, McKenna, Seth, Megan and Ashley, all of Blue Ridge, and Kevin, Carley and Kaylee, of McKinney.
