Elgy Adrian Lenertz was born on October 6, 1938 a son of Aloisius “Al” and Joan (Kossan) Lenertz in Karlsruhe, ND. He was raised and educated in the Karlsruhe area.
On November 22, 1960, Elgy enlisted into the United States Army. He proudly served his country until his honorable discharge on November 27, 1963. Following his discharge, Elgy worked as a heavy equipment mechanic.
Elgy was united in marriage to Janny McCauley on June 20, 1997 in Stanley, ND. They made their home in Camus, WA, where Elgy was a shop foreman and continued as a heavy equipment mechanic. Upon his retirement, they moved to Deer Park, where he has since resided.
Elgy is survived by:
Wife Janny, Deer Park, WA; daughter Sherri (Bruce) Smith, Camus, WA; step-son Dave Matilla, Walla Walla, WA; grandchildren: children Josh, McKenna and John; siblings: Allen (Vicki) Lenertz, Minot, Mary (Andy) Bischof, Minot, Melanie (Bruce) Peterson, Henderson, NV; sisters-in-law: Ruth (Dave) Zaback, Minot, Diane Lenertz, Bismarck, ND; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
ELgy was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Sidney and Timothy, sisters Henrietta and Maria.
