OBITUARY :
MRS. GRACE G. (MITCHELL) PHINICIE, 89, a resident of Menno Haven Retirement Community, Chambersburg, and formerly of 2013 Buchanan Trail East, Shady Grove, PA, died Tuesday evening, September 8, 2015, in the nursing home.

Born August 27, 1926 in Fayetteville, PA, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin H. and Iva C. (Shepherd) Mitchell. She lived her early life in the Fayetteville area.

Mrs. Phinicie received her G.E.D. from the Waynesboro School District.

She and her husband, the late Clarence O. Phinicie, were married on September 9, 1950 in Hagerstown, MD. They moved to Buchanan Trail East in 2002. Mr. Phinicie died on August 3, 2004.

Mrs. Phinicie was a seamstress for Austin Hill of Waynesboro for a number of years, however, she was a homemaker most of her life.

She was a member of Grace Baptist Church, Waynesboro, where she taught Sunday school in the primary department and helped with Junior Church.

Mrs. Phinicie enjoyed sewing, quilting, using her computer, flowers, and working on her genealogy.

She is survived by one daughter, Diane M. Myers and her husband, Don of Shady Grove; two sons, Dennis G. Flory of Harrison, Arkansas, and Dale L. Phinicie and his wife, Jill of Rouzerville, PA; 10 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; one sister, Sue Sprenger of Chambersburg; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, David C. Phinicie; two brothers and eight sisters.

Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, September 11, 2015, in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro, with Pastor John Scahill and Pastor John Huff, officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services, Friday morning, in the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Menno Haven Retirement Community Benevolent Care Fund, 2011 Scotland Ave., Chambersburg, PA 17201.
