Charles R Cornell, who has been afflicted with heart trouble for some years past, but who has been about until recently, passed away early Monday morning, October, 1930, having lived to be of ripe old age.
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon from the Community church with Rev G Koyker preaching the funeral services. Burial was made in the Terry Cemetery.
Impressive funeral services preached by Rev Koyker to a great many friends of the deceased and his family.
Charles R Cornell was born at Yorkville IL, September 28, 1850, and was eighty years of age at the time of death. He was married to Ida L Brown, December 25, 1870, at Yorkville, and to this union nine children were born. Mrs Cornell died December 12, 1890. There are six children living, they being Mrs Bertha Gaffney of Ottawa IL, James M Cornell of Aurora IL, Mrs Effie Jenkins of Bellingham WA, Harry W Cornell, Aladden of WY, and Mrs Frank Jackson ofTerry, and Mrs H W Stoudt of Manhattan. The following children preceded him in death: Fred O Cornell, February 19, 1899; Hugh B Cornell, October 15, 1918; Mrs William Cherry, February 8, 1928. Seventeen grandchildren also survive him.
