PETERSON, Lillian Louise 95, of Beavercreek, passed away Friday, September 4, 2015 in the midst of the gentle rains of a summer thunderstorm. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Lewis T. (Bud) Peterson, in 2000; her parents, Louis and Rose Reichbauer; two sisters, Dorothy (Dottie) Loeb, Virginia Novotny; two brothers, Louis (Louie) Reichbauer, Gene Reichbauer; and a granddaughter Hailey McDonald-Peterson. Lillian is survived by her son Bruce L. Peterson, daughters Donna Rose and Tina L. Peterson, and two granddaughters Lillian J. Peterson and Mariah Jones-Peterson and numerous other family and friends. Lillian (Lil) was born on October 20, 1919, in Dayton Ohio. Having lived her life fully, in most recent decades she held the position of family matriarch and was known for her humor, generosity, and vibrant spirit. In addition to the focus on her family, she was proud of her work at Delco during World War II, and as an associate in the lingerie department at Rike's Department Store for 15 years (1967-1982). Over the course of her life, she was a member of Hawker United Church of Christ, the WPAFB Officer's Wives Club, several garden clubs, and a member of the Residents' Council at Grand Court, where she created a new circle of friends in her later years. Known by 'Foxy' to her girlfriends, she loved dancing with family and friends, enjoyed raising African Violets, watching the cardinals and hummingbirds that came through her yard (but not the squirrels!), and telling ornery jokes on occasion. Visitation will be held at the Tobias Funeral Home Beavercreek Chapel, 3970 Dayton-Xenia Rd. on Thursday evening, September 10, 2015 from 4:00-7:00 PM, and again on Friday morning, September 11, 2015 from 11 AM to 12 PM with funeral services at 12 PM, directly following. Interment will be in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. A celebration of her life will be held at Orchard Lane Events, 2185 State Rt. 235, Xenia, OH, from 2:30-7:00pm, with food, beverages, and stories to share.
