She was born November 10, 1926, in Milroy, Pennsylvania to the late John and Myrtle (Treaster) Crissman.
Ruth retired from Radiology Associates after many years of service and had also worked at Macy's Department Store for a time. She had a servant's heart and volunteered at Cancer Care Center, St. Peter's Catholic Church, Ontario Library and MedCentral Mansfield Hospital. She was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church and the Catholic Women's Club. Ruth was a member of the Mansfield Liederkranz and enjoyed playing Bingo in her spare time.
She is survived by her children, Michael "Scott" (Anne)Young of Sammamish, Washington, Keith (Susan) Walborn of Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, Kellie (Ken) Chinchar of Charlotte, North Carolina; seven grandchildren, Morgan, Chris and Blake Young, Blair Walborn, Allison (Mike) Chinchar Bettes, Lauren (Devin) Darrell and Jennifer Chinchar; a great-grandson, Landen Bettes; a sister, Phyllis (Richard) Shipley of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Young.
The family will receive friends from 1-2:30 p.m. Friday, September 11, 2015, in the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road. The funeral service conducted by Father Jeremy Miller will follow at 2:30 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will proceed to Mansfield Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
