William's bought the homestead at Chathamport, of Joseph Nickerson around 1693, bounded "Easterly by Ensign William Nickerson, Southerly by the land of Jehosphat Eldred, Southerly, Southwesterly and Westerly by ye land of Jeremiah Nickerson's to ye Bank or Clift neer ye Wading place, and Northerly by ye Clift", 60 acres in total. November 28, 1710 he bought from Jeremiah Nickerson 20 acres adjoining the above land on the west. He sold all his lands and right at Chatham on September 10, 1716 to John Crowell, Jr., of Yarmouth, and moved to Harwich. There he bought the easterly part of his brother Ephraim's farm, on the southwest side of Flax Pond. The deed was dated February 9, 1718-9, and he built a house on the land. He sold that 40 acres by deed of August 17, 1725 to Jonathan Smalley of Harwich, and moved to the part of Eastham later called Wellfleet. He stayed there until his death.
