Verda Outlaw Stanley, 95, of Crossett died Monday, January 6, 2003, at her residence. Born October 1, 1907, to Benjamin Alvin and Cornelia Mills Outlaw in Vick, she was a member of the Eaglelake Crossroads Baptist Church and enjoyed gardening, quilting and canning. She was preceded in death by an infant, Marvin Leciel Stanley; her son, Ralph Allen Stanley; and her husband, Leciel Stanley.

Survivors include seven daughters, Ethel Blackwell and husband Bill of Crossett, Marion Duncan and husband David of Indianapolis, IN, Carolyn Hill of Jennings, OK, Edith Harmon and husband Amos of Warren, Judy Collins and husband Eugene of Monticello, Teresia Harris and husband John of Ashdown, and Gwen Gathright and husband Robert of Round Rock, TX; one son, Billy Stanley and wife Mary Pat of Crossett; one sister, Myreea Pinson of Crossett; 29 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 8, in the Jones Funeral Home chapel in Crossett Pallbearers were Shane Harris, Michael Smith, Bryan Hornbuckle, Braska Strebeck, Dennis Hill and Justin Collins. Burial followed services at the Union Hill Cemetery in Ingalls.
