MUNCIE--Nora Elizabeth Koop Falcon, 89, died Friday afternoon at Westminster Village Healthcare Center. She was born near Milton, KY, the daughter of Joshua and Julia Scalf Thayer, came to Indiana as a child, attended schools in Indianapolis, and came to Muncie in 1932.
Mrs. Falcon owned and operated Falcon's Fancy Candies on Walnut Street for many years. Prior to that, she was employed at Ritchies Clothing Store and at Sears.
She was a charter member of of Hazelwood Christian Church.
Surviving are two sons, Ron E. Koop (wife-Joyce) and Charles H. Koop (wife-Sharon), both of Muncie; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ervin Koop, who died in 1981, and Alex Falcon, who died in 1997; her parents; a brother, and four sisters.
Services will be 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in The Meeks Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Bob Smith and Rev. David Cartwright co-officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory. Friends may call at the mortuary from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday and prior to services on Wednesday. Memorials may be sent to The American Lung Association.
