FUNERAL
MRS. J. BRUCE
The funeral of the late Mrs. Jane Bruce, of 22 Blake-street, Wagga, who died in Wagga on Friday night, at the age of 78 years, took place in Wagga on Saturday afternoon. The cortege, which was large and representative, moved from St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church. Wagga, after service had been conducted by the Rev. J. B. Rentoul. Mrs. Rentoul officiated at the organ. During the service, the Rev. Rentoul made reference to the work done by Mrs. Bruce for the Red Cross and other patriotic movements. Tlie casket was carried to the grave by Messrs. George and Don Bruce (sons) , A. Menz (son-in-law), Fred Bruce (nephew), E. Homatrn and M. R. Marks. The floray tray, laden with many beautiful floral tributes, was carried by Messrs. George Patterson (son-in-law), Chas. Bruce (brother-in-law), W. Knight and James Wilson. A guard of honor was formed at St. Andrew's and again at the cemetery by the members of the Red Cross, 2WG Women's Club, and the Ambulance Auxiliary. The chief mourners at the grave side were Messrs. Allan, George and Don Bruce (sons), Mrs. George Patterson, Mrs. Alfred Collins and Mrs. Arthur Menz (daughters), Messrs. George Patterson and Arthur Menz (sons-in-law), Miss Ethel, Ada and Ruby Patterson, and Mrs. R. Mitchell (granddaughters), Mr. Frederick Bruce, Mrs. John Harrison (niece and nephew), Mrs. Don Bruce (daughter in-law), Mr. and Mrs. Chas Bruce (brother-in-law and sister-in-law), and many friends from all sections of the community. Seen at the grave side were Mr. S. W. Thompson (secretary), and Messrs. H. Carpenter M. Marks, and J. Wilson (representing the M.U.I.O.O.F. Lodge, Wagga), Miss Lea Maclean, general president of the 2WG Women's Club; Mrs. E. Brentnall, president, Mrs. E. Webb, secretary, Mrs. F. Gallagher, treasurer, and manv other members of that club, Mesdames Muir, Juppenlatz, Miss S. Sly, of the Red Cross, and Nurse Longmore and many other members of the Ambulance Auxiliary. Among the beautiful floral tributes, were wreaths from St. Andrew's Women's Guild, 2WG Women's Social. Club, Mrs. Lugton and Mrs. Rilder, of the 2WG Women's Club, the Ambulance Women's Auxiliary, the Wagga Citizens' Band, old Red Cross friend, the R.S. and S.I.L.A., Wagga sub-branch, and the directors and staff of Paull's Pty., Ltd. The funeral arrangements were carried out by Mr. J. C. M'Donald, of Wagga.
