He's the son of Miles Dingy & Betsey Spencer. He was born in Fishkill NY.His father died when he was 11. and he went to work. there aren't very many census records where he's listed with his family, I believe he might have been an indentured servant. he ended up coming to cayuga county NY in the 1860s with his mother Betsey and siblings, He appeared with his mother Betsey & Siblings Laura & Abel Dingy in the 1865 NYS Census living in Scipio NY. He Met and Married Carrie Jessup in Genoa NY they had two children together. Ella Dingy & Della Dingy. Carrie died in child birth on April 21st, 1881 while giving birth to Ella Obed Dingy. She was buried in Genoa Rural Cemetery. He then met and married Theodosia Elizabeth Bastedo in Genoa NY. together they had 4 Boys, Frederick, Walter, Louis & Monroe (Jake) Dingy. He died at his home on November 8th, 1918 on Maple St. Was buried 3 days later
