Graveside services for Maurice Lyndall Sharp, 89, of Lamesa passed away Friday, September 4, 2015 in Lubbock. He was born June 18, 1926 in Swenson to Maurice William and Lillie (Trammell) Sharp. Lyndall married Marion LaFrae Medlin August 22, 1947 in Lamesa. She preceded him in death November 21, 1997. They were married 49 years. Lyndall served in the United States Navy as a gunner on the USS Stormes during WWII. He was one of the original founders of the Lamesa Rodeo Association and served on the original board. He was a farmer and he loved rodeos, roping, and fishing. Lyndall is survived by his children, TiAda Wise and husband, Korky of Vernon, Marien Woner and husband, Frank of San Angelo, and Gary Don Sharp and wife, Cindy of Lamesa; grandchildren, Lyndie Carter, Cheyenne Barden, Shawn Rodenberger, Cody Dunn, Abby Moorman, Brian Woner, Haley Belew, and Macy Sharp; and 13 great-grandchildren. He is also preceded in death by his parents; sons, Jerry Lynn Sharp, and Lyndie Sharp; and sisters, Inez Sharp Medlin, and Maurine Sharp Wray. The family would like to say a special thank you to his caregiver, Maria Ogeda, his driver, Emily Barron, the ladies at Texas Finest Cafe, Sharon, Diana, and Gena, and the VA team of Dr. Farquahar, Tina, April and Iva Jo Hanslick.
