"Phyllis J. Gebhardt, 61 years, of Fremont, NE died Friday, September 4, 2015 at The Josie Harper Hospice House in Omaha, NE. Phyllis was born November 16, 1953 in Lynch, Nebraska to Edward and Georgia (Rockford) Reiser.
She grew up in Butte, Nebraska and was a 1972 graduate of Butte High School. She attended Joseph’s College of Beauty in Lincoln, Nebraska. She moved to O’Neill and lived there until 1979. Phyllis married Duane Gebhardt on September 22, 1979 in Butte. They lived at Alliance and Sidney, Nebraska until moving to Fremont in 1981. She was a daycare provider in her home in Fremont for thirty-four years. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church and did volunteer work there. She also belonged to the Daycare Association. She was an active volunteer for Archbishop Bergan Sports and American Legion Baseball.
She is survived by her husband, Duane of Fremont; sons, Justin Gebhardt of Scottsdale, Arizona; Troy and wife, Amanda Gebhardt of Lincoln, NE and Brett and wife, Sarah Gebhardt of Omaha, NE; mother, Georgia and husband, Jerome Dopheide of Butte, NE; brothers, Larry and wife, Lisa Reiser of Sidney, NE, Virg and wife, Karen Reiser of Butte, NE and Ralph Reiser of Clearwater, NE; and one grandchild. She was preceded in death by her father.
The Funeral Mass will be 11A.M., Thursday, Sept. 10, 2015 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Fremont. The Rev. Father David Belt will officiate. Visitation on Wednesday from 4 PM to 8 PM with family receiving friends from 6 PM to 7 PM and a Vigil Service/Rosary at 7 PM all at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. Visitation will continue on Thursday one prior to the service at church. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Fremont.
