Born, March 4, 1922, in Shippensburg, he was a son of the late Edward C. and Florence C. Russell Aby.
Harry worked in quality control, for the former Maslands, now Lear Corporation, in Carlisle. He retired in 1986. Earlier in life, he also worked for S.K.F., in Shippensburg.
Harry was a life long member of the Huntsdale Church of the Brethren. He was a very caring man who devoted his life to his family.
He is survived by his wife, who would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on August 23, 2006, Helen D. Hawkins Aby; 3 sons: Rodney E. and wife Debra Aby of St. Louis, Missouri, Gary L. and wife Darlene Aby of Shippensburg and Samuel E. and wife Terry Bell Aby of Charleston, S.C.; 1 brother, John Aby of Shippensburg; 3 grandsons: Eric A. Aby of Carlisle, Matthew T. Grimm of St. Louis, Missouri and Marcus V. Aby of Carlisle; 1 great-granddaughter, Kailey L. Aby of Carlisle; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by 3 brothers: Chester N. Aby, Donald C. Aby and Edward Aby.
Funeral services will be held, Saturday, August 5, 2006 at 11 a.m. in the Huntsdale Church of the Brethren, Carlisle. The Rev. Jan E. Custer will officiate. Burial will be in the Huntsdale Church Cemetery. Viewing will be Friday evening from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., in the church, and 1 hour prior to the services on Saturday.
