Dexter, in Cowley County, Kansas last Sunday. His body was brought
to Altoona for burial.

Died: - Monday, January 18, 1892, at the home of Mr. Van Brubaker, Mr. David Hite of la grippe and pneumonia. His sickness was of short duration but very painful being down less than a week. The deceased was born in Fairfield county, Ohio., October 25, 1836, and was at the time of his death 55 years old. He came to Cowley county about 20 years ago and settled on Crab creek. He was a good man and highly esteemed by all who knew him. His sisters Mrs. Armstrong of Arkansas City and Mrs. Tucker of Altoona, Kansas, were at his bedside the last few days doing all they could to alleviate his sufferings. He was unmarried, leaves three sisters and one brother, Mr. Rudolph Hite, of Dexter, to mourn his loss. The funeral was held at the M.E. church, preached by Rev. Tinsley Baptist minister, Tuesday afternoon, after which the remains were accompanied by his sister Mrs. Tucker and nephew John Hite to Altoon, Kansas for interment. The relatives have the sympathy of this community in their sorrow.
