James Nelson May, 73, of Kenner, La., died July 7, 2001, at East Jefferson General Hospital in Metairie, LA
Visitation is 5-9 tonight at Hartman Funeral Home of McComb and 9 a.m. Monday until 1 p.m. services at Montgomery Baptist Church. The Rev. John Adams and the Rev. Tim Parker will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mr. May was born Feb. 18, 1928, in Lincoln County, the son of Lee and Cola Moak May. He was retired after 40 years with Illinois Central Railroad. He was a member of Montgomery Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and a member of the Illinois Central Historical Club. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Woodson May.
Mr. May is survived by his wife of 51 years, B. Jane May of Kenner; two daughters and one son-in-law, Patricia May of Idaho Springs, Colo., and Rose and Steve Molbert of The Woodlands, Texas; five grandchildren, Gianna Lynn Orr of Denton, Texas, David Montague Orr II of Loveland, Colo., Patrice Jane Orr of Aurora, Colo., Chet Nelson Molbert and Ashley May Molbert, both of The Woodlands; three sisters, Alma Adams of Smithdale, Elsie Adams of Bogue Chitto and Clovis Formaggio of Hammond, La.; several nieces and nephews, Violene Fenn, Jerlene Wells, Gerald Adams, John Adams, Gene Adams, Rick Adams and George Formaggio.
Pallbearers will be Steve Molbert, Chet Molbert, David Orr II, Gerald Adams, Gene Adams, Rich Adams, Greg Fenn and Christopher Barrient. Honorary pallbearers are Bernard Matthews and David Bell.
