Died: September 03, 2015

Mary Hazel Neal, 97 of Bluefield, WV, passed away Thursday, September 03, 2015. Born in Tazewell County, VA, she was the daughter of the late Charles Stuart and Eugenia Melissa Tabor Bane. Upon hearing of her passing, her daughter, Letha said, “It was a beautiful day for Heaven to receive another angel”. Her family and her faith were very important to Mrs. Neal. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, daughter and sister. She was a talented musician and she enjoyed playing the piano and singing. She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Bluefield Ward. During her life, she served 2 missions for the church and held various church offices.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters: Anna Ruth Bane and Lena Mae Hansen; brothers: Joseph Elgin Bane and Harold Bane; granddaughter: Sandra Eugenia Lynn Armstrong; son-in-law: Freeman Mitchell.
She will be lovingly and affectionately miss by her daughters: Jody Armstrong of Rocky Gap, VA, Sandra Boydston of Lynchburg, VA, Letha Moore and husband, Danny of Altavista, VA, Becky Mitchell of Bluefield, VA; sister: Elizabeth Ballard of Bluefield, VA; grandchildren: Curtis Armstrong and wife Heather of Myrtle Beach, SC, Barry Armstrong, Jr of Rocky Gap, VA, Katie Zappia of Winston-Salem, NC, Griffin Mabe of Norfolk, VA, Nicole Yates and husband, Griffin of Austin, TX, Kim Shelton and husband, Donald of Altavista, VA, Sarah Marrs of Bluefield, VA, Chloe Mitchell of Bluefield, VA, Rachel Mitchell of Bluefield, VA; 10 great-grandchildren; 2 great great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
A service to celebrate Mrs. Neal’s life will be held Saturday, September 5, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Dudley Memorial Chapel with Bishop David Boone officiating. Interment will follow at Grandview Memory Gardens.
