The Rev. O'Neall was born September 27, 1883, in Wrightsboro, the son of Charles J. and Elizabeth Black O'Neall, natives respectively of Gonzales and Mississippi.

In his early childhood the family moved to Gonzales, his family belongs to the Methodist church where he worked as an active member.
During the year of 1906, he kept a journal of, as he put it, "A few things i did in 1906." These few things included holding Sunday School at a mission, trying new ideas, reading the Bible and a pastor's visit.
At age 22, he was a manager of the brick yard in Gonzales. On November 8, 1910, he married Miss Ada Bearemainingtrice Haynes, and as she was a member of the Baptist church, he decided to join this faith.
In 1925, he and his wife decided to enter a seminary, resigning from the Dilworth Bank, and going to Fort Worth to enter Southwestern Seminary. After graduation, he was employed as the director of religious education by the Second Baptist church in Houston, remaining there for a time before returning to Gonzales to work with the First Baptist church until 1947 when he went to the Waelder Baptist church as its pastor. He was ordained by the First Baptist church and remained as Waelders pastor for 18 years after which he and his wife, Ada returned to Gonzales.
After retirement the Rev. O'Neall became especially interested in the Alta Frio Baptist Encampment, his assistance important in getting the organization on a sound basis finacially.
The Rev. O'Neall was named "Man of the Year" by the Chamber of Commerce in 1969.
Miss Ada preceded him in death in January of 1973, and on June 6, 1976, he married Mrs. Alford.
On September 27, he celebrated his 100th birthday anniversary in his home with friends and relatives. At that time he was alert and responsive and joined in singing old and familiar hymns. One week later he was stricken with pneumonia which resulted in his death Friday, October 14.
Although he was a Baptist by faith, his work among all was universal, and prior to his ill health, he was a familiar figure at hospital and everywhere he was needed.
