Marvel Wayment Barrow, 90, passed away Friday, August 28, 2015 at the Crestwood Care Center. She passed away one year and 24 hours after her beloved husband, Floyd W. Barrow. She was born July 5, 1925 to Vernal Floyd and Gladys Paice Wayment. She attended Weber County Schools and graduated from Weber High School.
Marvel married Floyd White Barrow on January 5, 1944 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She worked for Del Monte Cannery, American Linen Company, Wonder Bakery and later at the Internal Revenue Service for 17 years.
She was a faithful member of the LDS church serving in every organization. She was a visiting teacher, Relief Society President (twice) and served for many years on the Stake Relief Society Board in the Weber North Stake. Marvel attended the Temple faithfully. She was called as a name extractor and enjoyed many years as a Daughter of the Utah Pioneers.
Marvel was known for her baking skills and was known as the "Cookie Grandma".
Marvel is survived by her six children, Alan (Marie), Dean (Linda), Vickie (Boyd) Lindquist, Kay (Phil) East, Leisa (Brad) Bryner, Lana (Craig) Saunders and one sister-in-law, Susan Barrow. Marvel was a loving mother and grandmother to 20 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Floyd, her parents and both sisters.
The family wishes to thank the Crestwood Care Center for their dedication and care of their Mother.
A Viewing will be held Thursday, September 3, 2015 at the West Warren Ward Chapel, 856 North 5900 West, West Warren, Utah from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, September 4, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the West Warren Ward Chapel. Friends may visit with the family prior to services from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.
Arrangements under the direction of Leavitt's Mortuary, 836 36th Street, Ogden, Utah.
Interment at the West Warren Cemetery, 700 North 6700 West, West Warren, Utah.
