Services for Mrs. Betty Emilyne Gunn, 87, mother of Richard M. (Pek) Gunn, executive secretary of the Tennessee Alcohol Commission, will be a 2 p.m. today in Poplar Grove.

The funeral will be at the Indian Creek Methodist Church, with the Rev. Edgar Coleman and Mrs. Gunn's son officiating. Burial will be in Poplar Grove.

Mrs. Gunn died at 2:30 a.m. yesterday at her home after an illness of several months. She was born in Hickman County near Pinewood, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Carvin.

In 1889 she married William Carroll Gunn, a farmer. They moved to Humphreys County in 1910, lived in Obion County for a few years, and returned to Humphrey's County in 1917. Mr. Gunn died in 1944.

She was a member of the Indian Creek Methodist Church, and had been active in church and community affairs.

In addition to her sons, survivors include three daughters; Mrs. Harry Berrywood of Poplar Grove, Mrs. John Coleman of McEwen, and Mrs. DeWitt Holland of Detroit; 11 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
