Amanda W Hecox was born in Adams Co., Illinois, Oct. 8, 1845, the daughter of Bradley and Margaret Ann (Marrow) Hecox. She married Peter Harding May 28, 1865, in St Albans, Illinois. He passed away in Feb of 1866 and their son, William, was born 1 month later. She later married James William DeMoss in West Point, Illinois, May 11, 1869. She died at the age of 71 in Stanberry, Missouri, Nov. 14, 1916.
