Retired School Cook
Anna E. Carpenter, 65, 2405 Highland Ave.,
wife of Ivan Carpenter, died at Ball Hospital
Wednesday after an extended illness.
Mrs. Carpenter was born in Ironton, Ohio, and
came to Muncie as a child with her parents,
Michael and Grace Gilmore Rooney.
She was a cook at Northside High School for many years,
retiring in 1979.
She was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church,
Women of the Moose and the Eagles Auxillary.
Surviving besides her husband are two sons, John Carpenter,
Muncie, and Robert J. Carpenter, Des Moines, Iowa; two daughters, Mrs. Dick (Rosemary) Bennett, Gaston, and Mrs. Charles (Mary Ann) Potter, Muncie; two brothers, Lawrence M. (Mickey) Rooney and Michael J. (Joe) Rooney, both of Muncie; three sisters, Mrs Bernadine Patterson and Mrs. Henry (Pat) Mong, both of Muncie, and Mrs. Paul (Rose) Morris, Kokomo; nine grandchildren and one great grandson.
Fr. John Schultz will celebrate the Mass of the Resurrection at 9 a.m. Friday at St. Lawrence Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Thompson Cemetery, Gaston.
Friends may call at the Meeks Mortuary 2-4 and 7-9 Thursday.
