Big Stone Gap, Claire Barnette, 59, passed away peacefully on Sunday, (August, 30, 2015) at Lonesome Pine Hospital in Big Stone Gap, VA.
Claire served as a registered nurse at Lonesome Pine Hospital for 26 years. For the past 13 years she held the position of Infection Control and Employee Health Nurse.
Claire was preceded in death by her husband, Randy Barnette, and her parents, Frank and Beulah Adams.
She is survived by her daughter, Leighann Garner and husband, Birt; her son, Josh Barnette and wife Stacy, and her sister, Robin Smith. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Zachry and Sarah Barnette, and Emma, Spencer, and Reagan Garner; special niece, Rhandi Harris, several other nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 1, 2015 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Gilliam Funeral Home Chapel (Gilliam Funeral Home, 618 Wood Ave. W., Big Stone Gap, VA, 276-523-7000). Burial will be private.
