Son of John Miller Jr. and Maria Elizabeth Lough. married to Susannah Hedrick, December 23, 1819 in Pendleton Co. West Virginia. Grave is unmarked. Was the father of 12 children; infant boy,(died at birth Nov. 23, 1820) Elizabeth "Betsy" Miller, (wife of Elijah Stonestreet, Solomon J. Carrier) Silas Wesley Miller, Jacob Miller, (died young) Amos Miller, Job Miller, Sarah Ann Miller, (wife of George W. Borror) John Wesley Miller, (died young) Hannah Dyer Miller, (never married) Isaac Taylor Miller, and Malinda Jane Miller (wife of David Carl Mowery.
WILL OF JOHN T. MILLER
FEBRUARY 2ND 1859
In the name of God Amen
I John T. Miller of the county of Pendleton and state of Virginia weak in body perfectly sound in mind and memory calling to mind the mortality of all flesh, I do make and ordain this my last will and testament, that is to say principally and firstly, I recommence my soul into the hands of Almighty God, and my Redeemer who gave it and my body I recommence to the earth from where it was taken to be buried in a descent Christian like manner and at the discression of my executors nothing doubting but in the resurrection at the last day i shall receive it again.
And as touching these worldly goods where with it hath pleased God to bless me in this life I will and bequeath and dispose of the same in the following manner. First of all my will is that all my funeral expenses and all other lawful debts be paid out of my moveable property---------
Secondly my will is that my ---Susanna shall have and keep the remaining part of all property for her own use as long as she lives. My big wagon, and half my horse gear, and wind mill and half my blacksmith tools, Isaac T. Miller shall have after my wife's decease. My old wagon and half horse gear and half my blacksmith tools Job Miller shall have after my wife's decease. My horses and cattle and all my other property Amos Miller and Job Miller and Isaac T. Miler shall have after my wife's decease. Thirdly my will is that at my decease that my place or land shall be left for my widow for her own benefit as long as she stays a widow in my name. But at her decease in said widowhood or by her marrying again she is off and then the above mentioned land shall fall to my three sons namely Amos Miller, and Job Miller and Isaac T. Miller-------
Job Miller shall have the east end and Amos Miller and Isaac T. Miller shall have the balance of my land by paying thirteen hundred and fifty dollars. Job is to pay out three hundred and fifty dollars----two hundred and fifty dollars to Elizabeth Carrier four hundred to Silas W. Miller, Three hundred and fifty dollars to Sarah Ann Boror, three hundred and fifty dollars----Hannah D. Miller, three hundred and fifty dollars to Malinda J. Miller, to be paid in six annul payments after our decease. Fourthly my will is that Amos & Job & Isaac T. Miller shall take care and keep us as long as we live Hannah D. and Malinda J. Miller shall stay on the place and their property until they marry---I also will that my daughter Malinda J. Miller is to have a horse worth $75 or 80 dollars. Lastly I appoint my son Amos Miller as my executor in this my last will and testament hereby remaining and revoking all other wills and testaments by me made or done henceforth, and confirming this to be my last will and testament in with where of I have hereunto subscribe my name and affix my seal this 2nd day of February 1859-------

A land deed record indicates that John T. Miller received a land grant for 430 acres from the Commonwealth of Virginia on the 30th of June 1845. This tract of land was in Upper Tract, on the east side of the South Branch of the Potomac River. John Miller was born and raised at Walnut Bottom in Mozer which was 400 + acres owned by his father John Miller Jr. The land at Walnut Bottom was willed to Amos Miller and Elizabeth Carrier, by their grandfather, John Miller Jr. in a will dated 1848.The land at Walnut Bottom has stayed in the Miller family and to date 200 acres of the land is still owned by a great, great grandson of Amos Miller, Charles Lee (Bud) Miller.
In the 1850 census of Pendleton Co Mill Run District, it indicates that John T. Miller is unable to read or write.

Bible verse read at John's funeral was Psalms 39th chapter 4th verse.
"Lord, make me to know my end and what is the extent of my days; Let me know how transient I am."
