Mrs. Clara Antoinette Groch Bennett, a former resident of Yazoo City, MS; died Friday, Sept.13, 1974, in a nursing home in Tallahassee, FL; where she had lived since 1965.
Mrs. Bennett was born July 7, 1881, in Sandusky, OH; the daughter of Frederick Augustus Groch and Rachel Greusel Groch.
She was married in 1910 in Sandusky, OH; to the late John P. Bennett.
Mrs. Bennett was a Methodist and a retired teacher of music in the public school systems.
Her death followed an extended illness.
Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Henry Jervey (Clare) Kelly of Tallahassee, FL; a son, Vice Admiral (Retired) Fred Bennett of Alexandria, VA; grandchildren, Nicholas L. Bennett of Washington, DC; Ensign Christopher Patterson Bennett, USS Vesole (destroyer); Peter Kelly and Nancy Claire Kelly of Tallahassee, FL.
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at First United Methodist Church Chapel, Yazoo City, MS.
Rev. Seth Granberry officiating.
Interment in Glenwood Cemetery.
Services were under the direction of Gregory Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Griffin Norquist, Billy Perry, Jr., J. M. Dobbs,
Nick Roberts, Carroll Quin, and James Beale.
