Esther F. Murray
Funeral services for Miss Esther Frances Murray, 95, of Concord, formerly of Cambridge, who was a pioneeer in social service work in Boston, were held today in Bigelow Chapel, Mount Auburn Cemetery, Cambridge with Rev. Edward Perry Daniels, minister of the First Parish Unitarian Church, Concord, officiating. Cremation followed, and the ashes will be buried in the family lot at Mount Auburn in the spring.
Miss Murray, who died Wednesday in a West Concord rest home, was born in Boston, but lived in Cambridge most of her life. She was for a number of years head of placement at the Children's Mission in Boston. She leaves a brother, Frederic L. Murray of Charles River, nine nieces and nephews, 16 great nieces and nephews, and nine great great nieces an nephews.
