HARLAN - Military services were held Friday afternoon at the Pauley Funeral Home here for Cpl. Jerry F. Ocean, 23, who drowned in a river on Luzon near Manilla, Oct. 17, 1945. The Rev. Raymond C. Walker conducted rites, with burial in Harlan cemetery.
Cpl. Ocean, who attended school at Defiance, is survived by his mother, Mrs. Oda Ocean; his father, Ellis Ocean of Harlan; seven sisters, Darlene and Marlene at home, Mrs. Germaine Wolfe, Mrs. Eugene Closson and Mrs. Yvonne Petersen, of Harlan, Mrs. John Rossean of San Pedro, California and Mrs. Elmer McClain of Exira; three brothers, Russel at home, Charles in the Navy and Lloyd Ocean of Glenwood.
