Minnie Lavonia Smith Wainwright, 90, died Sunday, August 30, 2015.

Services will be held on Wednesday, September 2, 2015, at 11:00AM, at Chamlee Memorial Baptist Church, 1502 Knoxville Street in Fort Valley, with Rev. Bryan McPherson, Tim Wilson and Rev. Robert Bradshaw officiating. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery. Family will greet friends Tuesday, September 1, 2015, from 6:00PM to 8:00PM, at Rooks Funeral Home, 213 West Church Street in Fort Valley.

Born in Juliette to the late Henry Cleavy Smith and Minnie McKleroy Smith, Mrs. Wainwright was a homemaker and charter member of Chamlee Memorial Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her husband of 34 years, Millard Carson Wainwright; 7 sisters; and a brother.

Survivors include her daughters, Lanelle Brantley (Grable) of Stockbridge, Judith Braswell of Loganville, Jeannette Bradshaw of Fort Valley, Betsy Byrd (Frank) of Butler, and Jayne Whitten (Mike) of Milledgeville; 13 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; and a great-great grandchild.

Rooks Funeral Home in Fort Valley is in charge of arrangements.
