"Emmett Lee Keithley, the youngest son of F. M. and Jane Keithley, was born in Sullivan county, southeast of Cora, on July 14, 1880, and passed away at his home in this city on June 29, 1931, at the age of fifty-one years and fifteen days. He received his schooling at the Bundridge school and grew to manhood on the farm. He spent almost his entire life on the old homestead, but with his health failing him, he moved to the city with his sister, Miss Maggie, a few years ago. He was a model young man and numbered his friends by his acquaintances.

His father, mother and two sisters preceded him in death. He is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Kate Brown of Cora and Miss Maggie Keithley of the home; two nieces and one nephew; and a host of relatives and friends.

Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Rudloff at the home in this city on Tuesday at 4 o'clock, after which the body was conveyed to the Hoover cemetery where it was placed in its narrow home to await the resurrection morn. A very large crowd attended the funeral services and the floral offering was profuse.

Emmett, as everyone knew him, was a good citizen and the bereaved relatives have the sympathy of this entire community." The Browning Leader-Record (Browning, Missouri), July 2, 1931
