Robert J. Maista, 71, of Middletown, DE passed away at his home on Thursday, August 27, 2015.
Bob was born in Camden, NJ on July 27, 1944, son of the late Anthony and Josephine (Legandro) Maista. He was retired from Acme Markets and was currently employed as a bus driver with Caravel Academy. Bob was a faithful parishioner of St. Joseph Church in Middletown, where he served as a Eucharistic Minsiter, and a Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus. Very dependable and generous, he served as a volunteer with the Little Sisters of the Poor. He also took great pride in caring for all aspects of his family and home.
Bob will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 25 years, Marlene (Bonkoski) Maista; his children, Denise Maista, Robert Maista (wife, Melanie) and Maria Kunkulis; and his grandchildren, Daniella, Dominic, Valentina, Rosie and Nathan. Bob is also survived by his brothers, Anthony (wife, Mary) and Ken (wife, Debbie); his nephews, Michael, Nicholas and Alex; two great nephews; and his brother-in-law, Gene Bonkoski (wife, Carolyn).
Family and friends are invited to visit at St. Joseph Church, 371 E. Main Street, Middletown on Tuesday, September 1 from 10:00-11:45AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00PM. Entombment will follow in All Saints Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Bob may be made to the Little Sisters of the Poor, 185 Salem Church Road, Newark, DE 19713.
