Mr. Aaron Devon Hudgins, age 61, of Marion, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, August 27, 2015 at The McDowell Hospital. Aaron was born in McDowell County on May 28, 1954 to the late Arthur D. Hudgins and Vennie Gouge Hudgins. He loved his wife, children and grandchildren and he also loved his Lord with whom he now resides for all eternity. An excellent sportsman, Aaron loved nothing better than to be in the woods hunting and fishing. He showed himself friendly, as well, and that trait brought to him many lasting friendships. He will also be remembered as a very hard worker and he earned all that he had by good, honest work.

Aaron leaves behind his beloved wife of 42 years, Kathy McKinney Hudgins of the home; four children, Devon Hudgins and his wife Renee of Morganton, Barney Hudgins and his wife Nyssa of Marion, Michael Hudgins and his wife Hope of Marion, and Aron Demers and her husband Ian of Marion; two brothers, Deloyd Hudgins and Roby Hudgins, both of Marion; three sisters, Roverna Pinkerton, Evelyn McHone and Shelia Loftis, all of Marion; seven grandchildren, one great-grandchild and a number of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 30, 2015 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Westmoreland Funeral Home in Marion. A funeral service will be held on Monday, August 31, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. in Westmoreland Chapel. Burial will follow in Hicks Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery.
