Ethel Mae Hall
Ethel Mae Hall, born Nov. 22, 1910, near Seneca, Mo., to John and Myrtle (Scovel) Bryant, died Monday, July 31, 2006, in her home.
She graduated from Fairland High School and attended Northeastern State College in Tahlequah, Okla.
She was a substitute teacher for a number of years.
Ethel was a homemaker and lived most of her life in the Fairland area.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Fairland and Order of the Eastern Star in Fairland.
She was known as Granny Hall to many. Ethel was greatly loved by her family and friends and will be truly missed.
Survivors include a daughter, Doris Payton, of Fairland, Okla.; a son, Wayne Hall, of Cheney, Wash.; three grandchildren, Lynda Martin, of Spokane, Wash., Wayne Hall Jr., of Nekoosa, Wis., and Craig Hall, of Vancouver, B.C.; five great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her son, John Samuel Hall; her husband, Samuel Hall; her granddaughter, Cynthia Payton; twin great-grandsons; five brothers; and three sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 3, at First United Methodist Church in Fairland. Rev. Carole Minter will officiate.
Burial will be in Hickory Grove Cemetery, northwest of Grove, Okla.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 2, at Paul Thomas Funeral Home in Miami.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Good Shepard Hospice, 2100 South Main, Suite 2086, Grove, Okla., 74344.
Arrangements are under the direction of Paul Thomas Funeral Home in Miami.
