She was a graduate of Blackstone College in Virginia, a former Case Worker for the PA Dept. of Welfare and a former employee of the Dept. of Real Estate & Insurance. During World War II, she served the Government in Washington, DC.
Freda was preceded in death by a brother, Lawrence Barr and three sisters, Melva Pannacci, Mabel Barr and Jenny Barr. She is survived by two sons, William E. Abers of Shamokin Dam and Ronald L. Abers of Lemoyne; and three beloved grandchildren, Anthea, Chad and Ashley Abers.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, April 18, 2014 at 11:00 AM in Market Square Presbyterian Church, 20 S. Second St., Harrisburg with Rev. Kelly L. Wiant, Associate Pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Curwensville, PA. A viewing will be held on Friday from 10:30 am until 11:00 am in the church.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by Fackler-Wiedeman Funeral Home, Harrisburg.
