Raymond C Dowdy, 80, of Mayfield, died at 1:20 a.m. Wednesday at his home.
Mr. Dowdy was a retired custodian for Longfellow Elementary School.
Surviving are his wife, Eva R. Dowdy; a son, Ray Norris Dowdy of Cuba; two daughters, Joy Fay Noffsinger and Shirley Worthy, both of Mayfield; a brother, Ralph Dowdy of Paducah; a sister, Oretha Nance of Mayfield, 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harve C. and Essie Sellars Dowdym a son, Jerry Glynn Dowdy and a sister.
Services will be at 3:30 p.m. Friday at Byrn Chapel. The Revs. J.T. Johnson, Carey Puckett, and Arlie Larimer will officiate and burial will be in Mayfield Memory Gardens.
