Obituary.
Susan Stull, mother of Mrs. W. P. Anderson and the Stull brothers, died at her home in Brownell, Kansas, Sunday, January 15, 1905. Susan Kidd was born near Cincinnati, Ohio, November 30, 1828, being 76 years, 1 month and 15 days. She with her parents moved to La Porte county, Indiana; from there to Nauvoo, Illinois; and from there to Green county, Wisconsin, where she met and was married [1850] to John Stull. She with her husband then moved to Allamakee county, Iowa, [1851] which was then a new country. After a residence there of fifteen years they removed to Jasper county, Iowa [1866]. Here they resided some ten years, when they again moved, this time to Clark county, Iowa [1876]. In 1881 she became a widow, and in 1889 came to Ness county living here until the "Strip" opened. She was fortunate in securing 160 acres of land which she proved up, after which she came hack to Ness county and lived In the town of Brownell until her death. She leaves nine children to mourn her death: a son and daughter near New Virginia, Iowa; a daughter at Luray, Kansas; a son at Corbin, Kansas; a son at Hawley, Oklahoma; and a daughter and three sons at Brownell, Kansas, besides a host of friends. Deceased was afflicted with dropsy and heart failure for several years, but the immediate cause of her death was hemorrhage of the brain. Her last Illness was of short duration, being about ten days. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Bisby at the Methodist church, January 17th, after which the remains were interred In the Vansburgh cemetery.
