Betty Ann Brown De Haan, age 79, died on Saturday, August 22, 2015 as a result of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident on August 14, 2015.

Born on August 1, 1936 in Sayre, PA, Betty was a daughter of the late Irving and Annie Brown and sister of the late Robert Brown. She was also predeceased by the father of her children, William P. De Haan.

Betty is survived by her daughter, Kathy De Haan Eckert and her family; her son, David De Haan and his family and her son, Peter De Haan. Also surviving are her sisters: Jean Brown Barrett and family, June Brown Beckwith and family; brothers: William Brown and family, Roy Brown, sister-in-law, Helen L. De Haan, several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Betty was a graduate of Towanda High School and the University of Buffalo where she received her BS in Nursing. She was a former employee of Buffalo General Hospital and the Newark Valley, NY Central School District. Betty was well read, enjoyed walking and everything in the natural world outside. She was also an avid doer of crossword and jigsaw puzzles.
Private graveside services will be held in the Jillson Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Caring assistance is being provided by the Cooley Family of Sutfin Funeral Chapel, Nichols, NY.
