I found the family on the 1920 Census, living in Plymouth's Center Township, Marshall County, Indiana. Albert C. Rhoade, aged 34, was farming. Fairy, aged 27, was home with their three young children--Doris, aged 5, Lovette, aged 1 year 4 months, and Donald, aged 3 months. Richard would join the family two years later in the spring of 1922, followed by sister Margery in the spring of 1924.
The unthinkable happened on 2 Mar 1930 when the family lost daughter Doris. She was only 15 years old.
A month later, the 1930 Census was enumerated in Center Township. The grieving family was living in Inwood, Marshall Co., Indiana, where Albert Rhoade, aged 45, was the owner of a general store. Fairy, aged 37, was home with their five children--Venus, aged 13, Fairy (aka Lovette), aged 11, Donald, aged 10, Richard, aged 8, and Margery, aged 6.
I couldn't find them in 1940. On 30 Sep 1942, Richard enlisted in the armed forces, serving during WWII. He was released on 15 Oct 1945.
