Christine Viar Bagby, 98, a native of Lynchburg, went home to her heavenly father on Friday, August 21, 2015. Christine was self-employed as a hairdresser and operated her beauty shop out of her Fairview Heights home for 55 years. She was a long time member of Fairview Christian Church.


She was preceded in death by her parents William P. Viar and Annie Mason Viar, husband, Glautin C. Bagby, son, Glautin C. Bagby, Jr., (G.C.), son-in-law, John P. Stinnette and seven sisters.


She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Stinnette; son, Morris Bagby (Olivia) of Hampton; daughter-in-law, Grace Bagby of Concord; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.


Special recognition is given to her son Glautin C. Bagby (G. C.) and his wife, Grace for their loving care and dedication given to Christine for twenty plus years while she resided in their home.


A graveside service will be held at Fort Hill Memorial Park in Lynchburg Thursday, August 27, 2015 officiated by Pastor Curtis Wheeler.
