He retired from the Josephine County road department after 20 years as a heavy-equipment operator and also worked in the oil field industry in Texas.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Ron of Oakridge; four daughters, Evelyn Bringfield of Myrtle Creek, Christy Gravon of Oakridge, Kim Dyer of Kalispell, Mont., and Kathy Smith of Springfield; a brother, John of Spokane; 13 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
