Martin Van Buren Wilson married Hettie Aletta Downey in 1879. They had three children, Martin V.Wilson , Guy LenoxWilson , Carroll Downey Wilson.

Martin V. Wilson, 80, Wenona resident for many years, died at 8 p.m. last Wednesday, November 27, 1933, at his home. He had suffered a stroke on Monday.
Born June 10, 1853 in Marietta, Ohio, Mr. Wilson moved to Wenona in 1854 with his parents, the late Joshua and Rosanna Wilson. He was married to Hattie Downey, who died several years ago.
Surviving are two sons, Carol of Rockford, and Guy L. of Wenona, and the following sisters and brothers: Mrs. Rosetta Stinad, IA; Mrs. Ida
Judd, Los Angeles, CA; J. W. Wilson, Emporia, KS; and Mrs. Florence Winters of Wenona.
The funeral was held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock with services at the Thierry Funeral Home in Wenona, IL. Burial was made in the Wenona Cemetery.
