Obituary: BRINNON, Rick Eugene (Age 70) Passed away August 2, 2015, at Valley hospital, from a severe blood infection, with his family at his side. He was born March 30, 1945 to Ed and Melba Brinnon. He attended Dishman and Trent grade schools and West Valley High School. In his senior year, he was diagnosed with a severe Multiple Sclerosis and had been confined to a wheel chair for over fifty-two years. In 1997, West Valley School District awarded him his long awaited high school diploma, with a ceremony at Good Samaritan Nursing Home, with family, friends and former classmates in attendance. Prior to his illness, he was an active baseball and tennis player, plus an expert water skier. Despite his disability, he always had a cheerful smile, positive attitude and an enthusiastic outlook on life. He attended the Spokane Fair for years and even did Bloosmday twice. He is survived by his mother, Melba Brinnon; and two sisters, Lori Brinnon of Spokane Valley and Kay (Dave) Harris of Cheney; one nephew, Rick (Amy) Byrum of Mukilteo, WA; a niece, Jeana (Chad) Swanson of Greenacres; a great-niece, Shelby Swanson and a great-nephew, Colby Swanson. He is predeceased by his father, Ed Brinnon. Rick's family wants to express their gratitude to Good Samaritan Nursing Home and their staff for the last twenty years, for their never ending love and dedication to him and his care. A Memorial Service will be held at Good Samaritan, in the Memorial Garden, 17121 E. 8th Ave., Spokane Valley, WA 99016, Saturday, August 15, 2015 at 1:30 pm. Following, a BBQ and gathering will be held at the family River cabin in Post Falls. Memorial contributions may be made to Good Samaritan Nursing Home.
