SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. - Xenia Pearl Hilliard, 93, formerly of Shepherdstown and Charles Town, W.Va., died Monday, Feb. 25, 2008, at Reeders Memorial Home in Boonsboro.
Born June 19, 1914, in Rileyville, Va., she was the daughter of Jacob and Fanny Bell Alger.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Leo Hilliard.
She was a member of Martinsburg (W.Va.) Church of the Nazarene, where she was a Sunday school teacher and Sunday school superintendent.
She was a a licensed practical nurse and retired from the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Martinsburg.
She attended Ranson (W.Va.) Senior Center.
She is survived by one daughter, two sons, four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by nine sisters and brothers; and one grandson.
Services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Eackles-Spencer and Norton Funeral Home, Harpers Ferry. Ryan L. Rutherford will officiate. Burial will be in Rosedale Cemetery, Martinsburg.
The family will receive friends today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer's Disease Research Center, Division of Neuropathology, The Johns Hopkins University Medical Institution, 558 Ross Research Building, 720 Rutland Ave., Baltimore, MD 21205-2196.
