Ralph L. Carlson, was born in Moorhead, MN, on May 28, 1922. Ralph grew up in Moorhead, where he graduated from high school. During WW II, Ralph served his country in the US Navy, aboard ship in the Pacific Theatre of War. After his discharge, he returned to Moorhead. On August 27, 1950, Ralph was united in marriage to Evelyn Schultz, in Detroit Lakes, MN. He is the father of Gloria Carlson and stepfather of Joyce (Pete) Bouton-Ellingson.

Ralph served as a rural mail carrier for many years. He retired from the US Postal Service in the late 1970s. He died on Monday, Nov. 28, 2005, at the age of 83.

He was the son of Fredrick and Betty (Erickson) Carlson. Brother of Clarence Carlson, Ernest Carlson, and Agnes Hauske.
