The Beatrice Daily Express, Beatrice, NE, Thursday, Aug 7, 1919, pg 2: "John Leach, a pioneer resident of this vicinity died at the home of his son Grant Sunday noon. Funeral services were held at the home on Tuesday afternoon and the remains will be shipped to his old home in Illinois for interment."

Journal Gazette, Mattoon, IL, Thursday, Aug 7, 1919, pg 4:

"The body of John Leach, aged 92 years, of Firth, Neb., was transferred here Wednesday. It was being sent to Bethany, where short funeral services will be held at the residence of his daughter, Mrs. Clara Jones, with burial in Bethany cemetery beside his wife, who was buried last October. Mr. Leach was an old resident of Shelby county and spent the greater part of his life here, three miles north of Shelbyville."

The Lincoln Star, Lincoln, NE, Saturday, Sep 6, 1919, pg 2: "Will is Filed --- The will of John Leach has been filed for probate in county court by Charles W. Leach and Ulysses Leach, sons of the deceased. The will shows property consisting of real estate to the value of $60,000 and personal property valued at $1,000."

Lincoln Journal Star, Lincoln, NE, Tuesday, Oct. 7, 1919, pg 15: "The will of the late John Leach has been admitted to probate by County Judge Reid and the three sons, Edward Leach, Charles W. Leach and Ulysses G. Leach, have been appointed executors."
