ANDREW H. ANDERSON
Andrew H. Anderson, oldest son of Hans and Anna Hansson Anderson, born the 15 March, 1871 in Mora-Noret, Dalarne, Sweden, baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, May 11, 1891 by J.A. Cederquist. Confirmed by Elder L.J. Renstrom. He was then on his way to America and was baptized in Stockholm, Sweden.
He came to Ogden, Utah in the early summer of 1891, and the year after, he with his parents and brothers moved to Lund, Idaho, where they secured land through the Homestead Act, and worked together to improve their farms.
His parents and brothers came to Ogden from Sweden in the early fall of 1891, and joined Andrew who had been there almost six months earlier.
Andrew met and married Amelia Anderson from Salt Lake City, the 12th of October, 1898. They were married in the Salt Lake Temple. Some years after they were married Andrew sold his farm and went into business with C.J. Lundgreen in a store in Lund, Idaho.
And then in the year of 1907 came the call for him to go on a mission to Sweden. He had a strong faith in the Gospel and when the call came he was willing to go and was willing to sacrifice of his means and time and obedient to the same he left for his mission 30 May, 1907, accompanied by his wife and 4 year old son Sherman Ulysses.
He labored in Dalarne District for about one year, the headquarters of the district being Borlange. He was then moved to the Orebro district in Narke, then being sent again to Borlange, where he finished the time remaining. It was in Mora-Noret, Dalarne where he was born, and where he had immigrated to America from only 16 years before. So he had an opportunity to go to the relations and friends still there and bear them his testimony, which he did.
When his mission was finished and he was released, he returned to his home the 4th of August, 1909, with his wife and son.
He came home from that mission with his testimony strengthened and with an abiding faith in God, and although he passed through many sore afflictions and trials his faith did not falter, and thousands, both here and the life after this, have been made glad and happy for the service he rendered both to the living and the dead.
Andrew Anderson passed away May 7, 1958.
Andrew also served a mission in the Logan Temple where he worked for those that have passed on to the other side, that had no chance to hear the Gospel and accept it here. He worked as a witness at the sealings as long as his hearing would permit. He worked there 13 years and had to his credit 6,365 endowments. He will have a host of friends to greet him and to love him for the great work he did for them here. "And if it so be that you should labor all your days in crying repentance unto this people, and bring, save it be one soul into the kingdom of my Father, how great shall be your joy with him in the kingdom of my Father." "And now if your joy will be great with one soul that you have brought unto me into the kingdom of my Father, how great will be your joy if you shall bring me many souls."
