DAVENPORT—Services for Edwin J. Davis, 66, of Davenport, formerly of Centerville, Iowa, will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Husted-Ingersoll Funeral Home, Unionville, Mo. Burial will be in Tarr Cemetery, Queen City, Mo.
Visitation will be 7-8:30 p.m. ; Monday.
He died Friday at Putnam County Memorial Hospital, Unionville, following an apparent heart attack near his condominium at Lake Thunderhead, Mo.
Mr. Davis married Joan Stahl in 1945 in San Francisco.
He worked as a millwright with Local 2158 Machinist of Moline for most of his life.
He had served as mayor of Blue Grass. Iowa, and served as a volunteer with the St. Luke's Hospital Cardiac Rehabilitation program.
During World War II, he served in the Navy.
Memberships include Disabled American Veterans and Westside Assembly of God, Davenport.
He had been active in youth sports programs in the Quad-City area.
His hobbies included hunting and fishing.
Survivors include his wife; his mother, Wilma Brown, Rock Isand; sons, Tom, of Ottumwa, Iowa; and Reggie, Davenport; five grandchildren; and a sister, Bonnie (Mrs. Dale) Ruckman, Rock Island.
