MC DONALD - Mrs. Viola M. McDonald, 76, formerly of 929 N. Main St., died Sunday, June 4, 1978 in North Rockford Convalescent Home after a short illness. Born Sept. 23, 1901, in Roscoe, daughter of Amil and Hulda Burkman. Lived all her life in the Rockford area. Married to John Charles McDonald in Rockford, June 1, 1951. Member Third Presbyterian Church, 50-year member of Eastern Star Lodge 53. Predeceased by her first husband, Wesley Deichsel, in 1948, and her second husband, John McDonald in 1973. Graduated from Harlem High School, class of 1920. Survivors include a step-sister, Mrs. Margaret Schoonover, Roscoe; a brother, William R. Burkman, Roscoe; a half brother, Roger A. Burkman, Rockford; a stepbrother, John Worden, Orfordville, Wis.; and several nieces and nephews.
Services at 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 7, in DELEHANTY FUNERAL HOME, 401 River Lane, Loves Park, with the Rev. Murray L. Hanson of Third Presbyterian Church, officiating, with Eastern Star rites before the services. Burial in Greenwood Cemetery. No visitation. Memorials may be made in her name for the church.
